Starting today, June 17, large-scale events marking the upcoming Midsummer "Ligo!" holiday will be held in Riga – residents are welcome to the traditional Herbs Market on Dome Square, folk group concerts, arts&crafts fairs, festive decor workshops and Midsummer rituals in culture centers, parks and squares, Riga City Council informed LETA.

From June 18 to June 21, residents are welcome to visit "Summer Solstice Fires on Riga's Hills", which will be held at Dzeguzkalns, Tornakalns, Grizinkalns, Ciekurkalns and Agenskalns.

On June 19, visitors will be able to observe and participate in various traditions – singing, making flower and leaf-crowns and garlands, setting up and making bonfires and tall torches.

On June 20, everyone is welcome to visit the Herbs Market on Dome Square, where Latvian craftsmen and farmers will offer their products. People are also welcome to visit the VEF Culture Palace to hear various choral and folk dance groups and thespian troupes.

On June 21, residents are welcome at Kalnciems Quarter, at the Culture Center "Ilguciems" and the Museum "Dauderi".
