Koke and Melbarde to be awarded Three Star Order in Latvia

The Chapter of Orders decided on October 10 that the Order of the Three Stars would be awarded to former Education Minister Tatjana Koke and to Latvian National Culture Center Director Dace Melbarde, the candidate for the culture minister, according to an official statement printed in the Latvijas Vestnesis newspaper, cites LETA.
Koke will be awarded a third-class Order of the Three Stars, and Melbarde – fourth class Order of the Three Stars.
Likewise, the Order of the Three Stars, class 3, will be awarded to Latvian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Igors Apokins, former Latvian Ambassador to Estonia Karlis Eihenbaums, former Latvian Ambassador to Russia, now Ambassador to Austria, Edgars Skuja, Latvian Academy of Culture Professor, academician Juris Talivaldis Urtans, and politician and former Ventspils University College Rector Janis Vucans.
The Order of the Three Stars, class 4, will be presented to the Riga Classical School Principal Romans Alijevs, Valmiera Mayor Inesis Bokis, racecar engineer and racer, "OSC" Director Andris Dambis, Riga Russian Theatre actor Leonids Lencs, Bauska Castle Director Maris Skanis, former University of Latvia Institute of Biology lecturer, academician Janis Viksne.
The Order of the Three Stars, class 5, will be awarded to State Education Content Center's Deputy Director Agra Berzina, Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital doctor Asja Eglite, writer and arts activist Biruta Eglite, journalist and writer Liga Ernstsone (Blaua), former Latvian National Opera Ballet instructor Sarmite Graudina, Latvian popular singer Ojars Grinbergs, Latvian Luge Federation President Atis Strenga.
