Latvian football team retains its lowest ever FIFA ranking

The Latvian national men's football team has retained it disappointing 119th place in the latest FIFA rankings, which is the lowest ranking in Latvia's football history, reported LETA.
Latvia currently has 280 ranking points.
In August of last year, Latvia was ranked 70th in the FIFA rankings.
As reported, Latvia lost to Bosnia & Herzegovina 0:5 in a World Cup qualifier this past June.
Meanwhile, the Estonian side has moved up one spot in the ranking to 85th, while Lithuania has moved down two spot to 106th.
Spain is ranked first in the rankings, followed by Germany and Colombia.
Argentina is ranked fourth, followed by the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Brazil and Belgium.
Meanwhile, Latvia's World Cup 2014 qualification group opponents are currently ranked as follows: Greece - 11th, Bosnia & Herzegovina - 13th, Slovakia - 62nd, Lithuania - 106th, and Liechtenstein - 148th.
Latvia will play a friendly against Estonia on August 14.
Latvia will play its next World Cup 2014 qualifier on September 6 at home against Lithuania.
