Riga ‘’Dinamo” hockey club continued its winning ways tonight, breaking the tied-up series against Donetsk ‘’Donbass” in a penalty shoot-out that pitted the team against its ex-goaltender Chris Holt, informs LETA.

With a 2:1 regulation victory tonight, Donetsk had tied the Hope Cup quarterfinal series at 2:2, forcing the penalty shoot-out. Riga ‘’Dinamo” and its goalie, Maris Jurcers, come out the winners.

Next up for the team – a semi-final series next week with Minsk ‘’Dynamo”.

As reported, Riga ‘’Dinamo’s’’ Paul Szchechura scored a miracle goal on Saturday with eight seconds left in the first overtime to take the team to a 2-1 lead in the KHL Hope Cup consolation tournament series against Donetsk ‘’Donbass”.

Final score in the game was 3:2 (0:1, 0:1, 2:0, 1:0). For Riga, the goals in regulation were notched by Roberts Bukarts and Vitalijs Pavlovs, for "Donbass" – the two were mastered by one player – Dmitri Kagarlicky
