Popular Canadian singer Avril Lavigne will give a concert in "Arena Riga" this evening, concert agency FBI press secretary Anda Jansone told LETA.

Local band ''Double Face Eels'' will warm up tonight's concert, as they will begin performing at 7:30 p.m. The doors to ''Arena Riga'' will open at 6:00 p.m. On the other hand, Lavigne will begin performing at 8:30 p.m.

In the concert, the so called "rock princess" will perform songs from her newest album "The Best Damn Thing", as well as her biggest hits from previous albums. Lavigne will also play various musical instruments during her performance.

During her European tour "The Best Damn Tour", the singer will altogether hold 33 concerts in 22 countries. Lavigne will be in Latvia for the first time, and as the singer confirms, the show's program and visual setting will be an amazement for all in attendance.

Lavrigne's band consisting of 12 people, musicians and dancers, will be arriving in Latvia with the singer.

Lavigne, who is one of the most popular singers in the world at the moment, released her first album at the age of 17. The singer has been nominated several times for the Grammy, has triumphed during MTV awards ceremonies, and received many other recognitions.

The singer has recorded three studio albums, which have already sold more than 30 million copies around the world.
