Sevastova climbs five places in WTA tennis rankings

Latvia's top-ranked female tennis player Anastasija Sevastova has moved up five places in this week's WTA women's singles rankings and is currently ranked 179th, informs LETA.
At the moment, Sevastova has 355 ranking points.
Last week, Sevastova lost to Germany's Julia Gorges 3:6, 4:6 in the first-round of the Oakland WTA ''International'' tennis tournament. To advance to the tournament, Sevastova won three qualification matches, earning 17 WTA ranking points.
Among the other Latvian players in the WTA rankings, Diana Marcinkevica moves up one place to 243rd, Jelena Ostapenko remains in 725th place. Liga Dekmeijere is 1,105th, Laura Gulbe – 1,151st.
At the top of the table, Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) is still first, followed by Maria Sharapova (Russia) and Serena Williams (United States).
