BC, Riga, 03.01.2013.Print version

The premier of “Palme” will take place in Riga on January 17 at 17.30, in Splendid Palace, informed BC the press service of the Embassy of Sweden in Latvia.

“Olof Palme: Loved and Hated” is about the life and times of Olof Palme, the Prime minister of Sweden until his assassination in 1986.

Through Olof Palme, a minor country like Sweden influenced major international politics. The film “PALME” is told against time as a backdrop. We see him meet the revolutionary students at the student’s union in 1968 and watch him take the call from the hostage drama at Norrmalmstorg.

For the first time, his entire family is appearing in a film, telling us about life with Sweden’s most famous politician.

Directed by Maud Nycander and Kristina Lindström, “PALME” is a feature film and has been released with great success in Sweden in September 2012.

Movie Director Maud Nycander also participates in the premier in Riga. Entrance is for free.
