Latvia and Denmark officially submit joint bid to organize 2017 Ice Hockey WC

Latvia and Denmark have officially submitted their joint bid to organize the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championships, LETA was informed by the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation.
The tournament's games will be played out in Riga and Copenhagen, with the semifinals, bronze medal game, and gold medal game played at the newly built ''Copenhagen Arena'', which will be opened in 2015.
The tournament's games in Riga will be played at ''Arena Riga''.
President of the Danish Ice Hockey Union Henrik Bach Nielsen said that his country is proud to organize the tournament together with their experienced Latvian friends. ''We have worked hard the past several years to develop ice hockey in Denmark,'' he added.
Meanwhile, Latvian Ice Hockey Federation President Kirovs Lipmans said that Latvia intends to organize the tournament at the highest level, just like it did in 2006. ''We are a passionate hockey nation, and we promise to have unforgettable moments for all ice hockey fans,'' Lipmans said.
France and Germany have also submitted a joint bid to organize the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championships.
