Guitarist Vicente Amigo is widely recognised by his outstanding talent and ability to evolve the flamenco sounds introducing a number of majestic innovations, combining several styles of music both from Africa and the Middle East. He will perform at Latvian National Opera in Riga on November 26, reports liveriga.com.

Vicente Amigo is considered to be one of the most virtuous and prestigious artists of his generation being called the “new Paco de Lucia”. His guitar playing style is an interchange of the authentic de Lucia and the romantic Ottomar Liebert.

Since 1991, when Vicente released his first album “De Mi Corazon al Aire” (From Out of My Heart) he has recorded seven other albums, the album Ciudad de las Idejas (City of Ideas) released in 2000 is considered to be one of the best flamenco music albums. This album was awarded with the Ondas Award, as well as received the Latin Grammy Award as the best album.

In the concert in Riga Vicente Amigo will perform compositions from his latest album “Paseo de Gracia” (2009) that is a successful blend of flamenco technique and jazz elements and was recorded in collaboration with several Spanish artists – Alejandro Sanz, Enrique&Estrella Morente, Nina Pasori and others.
