Face masks to be mandatory again on public transport in Latvia

Passengers on public transport in Latvia will have to wear masks as of October 7, the government decided today, reports LETA.

The requirement will not apply to children younger than 13 and to persons with physical or mental disabilities who are unable to put a mask on, the Health Ministry explained.
Face masks on passenger transport will be mandatory until November 6. If the situation improves by then, the restriction could be lifted. If the situation becomes worse, new restrictions will be considered.
As reported, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, has reached 26.3 cases in Latvia.
