BC, Riga, 03.12.2020.Print version
Owners of Rietumu Banka and ABLV Bank, which in the process of liquidation, have topped Latvia's rich-list in 2020, compiled by the business newspaper Dienas Bizness and Lursoft publication Millionaire, cites LETA.

Lursoft IT board member Daiga Kiopa said that Mikrotilks co-owner Arnis Riekstins, who topped the list of wealthiest Latvians in the two previous years, has not been included in the list this year because his company, like many others, had not filed annual statements for 2019 by mid-November.

Rietumu Banka co-owner Leonids Esterkins, whose estimated worth is EUR 151 million, has thus been ranked Latvia's richest man this year.

ABLV co-owners Olegs Fils and Ernests Bernis share the second and third place on the rich-list. Fils' assets are estimated at EUR 144 million and Bernis' wealth at EUR 126 million.

Akadijs Suharenko, another Rietumu Banka shareholders, is fourth with an estimated wealth of EUR 81 million, and Uldis Asars, the sole owner of AKZ sawmill, is fifth with EUR 75 million.

Latvia's Top-10 of richest people also includes Janis Zuzans, chairman of Alfor gambling company, whose wealth is estimated at EUR 74 million, businessman Justs Nikolajs Karlsons with EUR 73 million, Ivo Zonne with EUR 58 million and Valdis Lejnieks, chairman of A.C.B. road construction firm, with EUR 44 million.
