Retail sales up 1.3% in Lithuania in Jan-August

Lithuania's retail sales, excluding car sales and repairs and food and beverage service providers, rose 1.3% in January-August 2020, year-on-year, at constant prices, to 7.972 billion euros, excluding VAT, the country's statistics office, Statistics Lithuania, said on Monday, cites LETA/BNS.
Food and beverage service providers' sales plunged 23.3% year-on-year to 451.197 million euros, at constant prices.
Food product, alcohol and tobacco retailers saw their sales go up by 1.2% to 3.357 billion euros, and non-food retailers posted an increase of 4.5% to 3.079 billion euros. Automotive fuel retailers saw their sales fall 3.9% to 1.535 billion euros.
In August, from July, retail sales, excluding car sales and repairs and food and beverage service providers, inched up 0.5 percent to 1.135 billion euros. The sales of food and beverage service providers inched down 0.2% to 80.956 million euros.
