Wholesale electricity prices in Nord Pool's Lithuanian,
Latvian and Estonian bidding areas averaged 28.5% on May 4-10. The average
price across the power exchange went up by 9% to 8.15 euros, the independent
electricity supplier said.
"Prices in the Nordic countries were mainly affected by
the continuing dry and cold weather, which further reduced the hydrological
balance," said Karolis Bagdonas, corporate client manager at Elektrum
Lietuva.
The three Baltic countries' total power consumption declined
by 2% to 458 gigawatt-hours (GWh).
Their overall electricity production edged down by 1% to 198
GWh, covering 43% of the region's needs.
