UK applies 14-day self-quarantine for persons arriving from Latvia

BC, Riga, 27.11.2020.Print version
Taking into account the epidemiological situation in Latvia, the UK government has set a 14-day self-quarantine requirement for persons arriving from Latvia, LETA was informed by the Latvian Embassy in Great Britain.

This requirement will take effect on the morning of November 28.

Also, starting at 5 pm on November 26, recommendations of the United Kingdom for travel to Latvia will be changed, with the government recommending travel to Latvia only on important trips.

The quarantine regulations require that when entering the United Kingdom, the place of stay where the arriving persons will spend the quarantine period must be declared electronically. The responsible services will carry out inspections or the quarantine at the indicated place of stay, and whether it is being observed. Violations of quarantine conditions are subject to fines in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

From December 15, the quarantine period can be shortened if a person takes a Covid-19 test five days after entry and the result is negative. The test will be a paid service.
