Latvia reports first confirmed coronavirus case

Print versionA first case of novel coronavirus Covid-19 has been confirmed in Latvia, LETA was told at the Health Ministry.

The Center for Disease Prevention and Control confirmed that a patient in Latvia has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Health Ministry has called a news conference at 8 p.m. Monday to inform about authorities' further steps and recommendations.
Health Minister Ilze Vinkele, Jurijs Perevoscikovs, a representative of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, as well as Ludmila Viksna, a chief infectious diseases specialist at Riga Eastern Hospital, will take part in the news conference.
