Pure Food turnover made at LVL 5.5 mln in H1

The fruit and vegetable processing company Pure Food posted LVL 5.5 million in turnover in the first six months of 2009, as the company's council chairman Aivars Zimants told LETA.

The first half-year was very successful for the company with the revenue exceeding the planned income. 70% of the company's products are exported, with 25-28% of the exports going to Russia.

 

Now is the most active part of the year for Pure Food, because in summer it buys berries and fruit, Zimants said. With the help of the European Union's aid, Pure Food has built a new freezer warehouse where more than 1000 tons of berries can be stored so the company can work all year round. Each evening the suppliers form lines at the company, said Zimants.

 

As reported, last year Pure Food earned LVL 283,776, or 45 times more than in 2007 when the company's profit totaled LVL 6,302.

 

Pure Food turnover last year reached LVL 10.54 million, a 6.8% increase on 2007 (LVL 9.87 million).
