BC, Vilnius, 26.08.2014.Print version
The Ministry of Agriculture in Lithuania says that after Belarus abandoned phytosanitary protection requirements for imported goods, cargo will no longer be hampered at the border, informs LETA/ELTA.

Information emerged last week that Belarus changed requirements causing vehicle congestion at the border. The State Plant Service under the Ministry of Agriculture referred to Belarusian authorities by telephone and in written requesting to specify information on phytosanitary requirements for exporters and re-exporters of fruits and vegetables.

Seeking to avoid stoppage of transport vehicles at the Belarusian border, the State Plant Service issued temporary recommendations to its regional branches regarding phytosanitary control documents when exporting to the Customs Union.

It is said that the official answer from Belarusian plant protection agency was received, Belarus abandoned additional requirements for goods, thus, hindrances for cargo transportation have been eliminated.
