President Ilves to gets new Audi A8 L 3.0 TDI Quattro Tiptronic

Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will get a new and safer official car, a luxurious Audi A8 L 3.0 TDI Quattro Tiptronic next spring since the current car is not safe enough, LETA/Õhtuleht reports.

The car will be leased for 4 years, it will be delivered in March next year. The car will be leased from Reval Auto Esindused OÜ. At the company's homepage, the car's price is 79,300 EUR.

 

The total cost of the rental contract is 10,960 EUR plus VAT. Monthly payment should then be 274 EUR, which is even more favourable than for the current Audi A8 of the president for which 348.50 EUR a month is paid.

 

Although the Audi that has served the president for four years is in good shape and has 150,000 km of mileage, the president does not use it anymore since it is not safe enough, i.e. doesn’t enable the police and border guard to protect the president as required. The president's chancellery has said earlier that the security requirements have changed.
