Juhan Tere, BC, Tallinn, 07.10.2011.Print version
Shashank Nigam, Executive Director of an air travel consultancy SimplyFlying, stated that Tallinn Airport has all opportunities to become a major international transit hub, the Estonian national broadcasting corporation ERR reports.

The expert noted that even smaller cities have a chance to develop a large hub; he praised Tallinn's location which is perfect for a connection point to a large number of countries, informs LETA.

"The possibilities are huge. Look at Amsterdam, the population is just 600,000, but it's one of the biggest hubs," Shashank Nigam emphasised.

Tallinn Airport's capacity can be expanded by adding new gates, as the expert noted, besides, a larger airport in a remote area from the capital city's center could be built.
