Helicopter carrier Copterline will start training flights between Tallinn and Helsinki on Friday, writes LETA/Äripäev.ee.

Regular helicopter traffic operated by the enterprise will be launched in early September.

The company’s new business class copter Augusta Westland with 13 seats arrived in Helsinki on Wednesday.

“We will start regular route flights between Helsinki and Tallinn in the beginning of September, with five daily return flights,” said managing director of Copterline Kari Ljungberg.

Copterline has started regular traffic between Helsinki and Tallinn several times. The first time was in 2000 when the enterprise operated the route with Sikorsky S-76 passenger helicopters. The flights were suspended in August 2005 due to a fatal accident that occurred during a flight. In spring 2008, the route was launched again, but the operations were not profitable and the flights were ended in less than six months.
