Second round of Southern Bridge construction in Riga to be completed by July

Second round of the Southern (Dienvidu) Bridge construction in Riga will be completed by July, when several the so-called "Slavu hub" – a bundle of access roads and ramps on the right bank of the Daugava River – will be opened for traffic, as Transport Systems representative Kristine Zeltina informed the business portal Nozare.lv.

Transport Systems has completed more than 85% of all planned construction jobs so far.

 

As soon as more favorable weather conditions arrive in Latvia, asphalting roads and installation of infrastructure will continue – safety barriers, road signs, road surface marking, sidewalks and greenery, said Zeltina.

 

Riga City Council's Traffic Department warns drivers that the renewed construction activity may result in temporary traffic restrictions and changes, and requests that drivers beware of road signs, writes LETA.

 

Transport Systems was established at the end of 2009 on the basis of the Dienvidu tilts company for expansion on foreign markets. The company is an alliance of the following construction companies: Skonto buve, Latvijas tilti, BMGS, Tilts, Rigas tilti and Viadukts.
