The return trip will take more time as it bypasses Tallinn on the way to Stockholm.
The St. Peter Line plans to operate the route twice-weekly: St. Petersburg-Stockholm service begins in April, with a Tallinn stop on the return route, writes LETA.
Those traveling on the line will be sailing on the M/S Princess Anastasia, built in Finland in 1986.
The vessel's capacity is 2,215 passengers and 580 cars.
The new route, though not the fastest or most convenient way for Tallinn residents to reach St. Petersburg, will still be an improvement in the transport links between the cities, which are currently limited to airline and bus routes. It also has the potential of bringing more Swedish and Russian tourists to Tallinn.
