Ventspils nafta terminals surpassed 0.1 million tons more oil products

In the first five months of 2008, the amount of transshipments at the crude oil and oil products transshipment company Ventspils nafta terminals (VNT), which is a subsidiary of the joint stock company Ventspils nafta (Ventspils Oil, VN), surpassed 5.6 million tons of crude oil and oil products, which is 0.1 million tons more than during the respective period of last year, as informed VN's public relations and advertising head Gundega Varpa.

In the first five months of 2008, VNT delivered 4.4 million tons of diesel fuel via oil product pipelines and by rail, 0.6 million tons of various gasoline was transported by rail and 0.5 million tons of crude oil and oil products delivered by sea were transshipped at VNT, informs LETA.

 

In May, VNT handled 0.9 million tons of crude oil and oil products.

 

The volume of transshipments at VNT has been growing since 2007, when the enterprise resumed delivering the diesel fuel via oil product pipelines and started a cooperation with the co-owner of VN and VNT, the international oil and gas consortium Vitol Group.

 

VNT is a subsidiary of VN. 51% of VNT belong to VN, whilst 49% is owned by the Vitol company Euromin Holdings Limited. The terminal renders transit services: reception of oil and diesel fuel via pipelines, as well as reception, storage and

transshipment of crude oil, diesel fuel, gasoline and other oil products delivered by rail and sea.

 

VNT is the largest of such companies in the region, and its crude oil and oil products shore-tank farm reaches 1.2 million cubic meters and has no analogues among similar companies in neighboring countries.
