PKN Orlen acquires Mazeikiu Nafta remaining shares

The Polish oil concern PKN Orlen has acquired the remaining shares and taken over the control of Mazeikiu Nafta. On Wednesday, April 30, the concern transferred the remaining sum for the 9.98-% holding of the oil refinery Mazeikiu Nafta to the Lithuanian Government.

According to the option agreement between the Government and PKN Orlen, the transaction had to be finalized by April 30. The Government plans to use the received money for the stabilization of the financial system and other needs, reports ELTA.
The group of Mazeikiu Nafta includes the oil refinery company, Butinge terminal and Birzai oil pipeline. Ventus – Nafta, subsidiary of Mazeikiu Nafta, operates a petrol station chain of the trademarks Ventus and Orlen Lietuva with over 30 petrol stations in Lithuania.
