"Developing a commercial platform requires a very big investment and is a time-consuming process. Whether we will develop a commercial platform of our own or continue using the platform of Adria Airways also in the future is still unclear," NAG spokesperson Liis Veersalu told BNS on January 25th.
Veersalu said that speaking in favor of the Adria Airways commercial platform is an excellent sales network enabling NAG to establish and maintain valuable contacts. "For instance, Adria Airways has over 60 interline agreements with other airlines, which enables to offer an extensive selection of follow-on flights in cooperation with them," she said.
Besides it's easier for NAG as a new company to win trust in the eyes of resellers and cooperation partners this way.
"A possible switch to a commercial platform of our own later would be much smoother and less problematic because we will have proven ourselves then already," she said.
She explained that thanks to the commercial platform NAG flights are visible and available for booking all over the world, meaning that a travel agent in the United States can find and book a ticket to a follow-on flight by NAG to Tallinn.
Veersalu said the airline was examining the situation and wasn't in a hurry to leave the Adria Airways commercial platform.
NAG, which started services on Nov. 8 last year using planes leased from other carriers with cockpit and cabin crew, operated its first flight with a leased CRJ-700 aircraft with an Estonian crew and cabin service personnel last Wednesday.
