Lithuanian National Tourism Business Association becomes member of ECTAA

Print versionThe General Assembly of the European Travel Agents' and Tour Operators' Association (ECTAA), which took place in Portugal, welcomed a new member within ECTAA, the National Tourism Business Association (NTVA) from Lithuania, informs LETA/ELTA.

This has brought the ECTAA membership to 33 national associations in 31 European countries, of which 27 are EU Member States, 2 EU candidate countries and 2 EEA/EFTA countries. ECTAA is the Group of national travel agents' and tour operators' associations within the EU. It actively cooperates with European Union institutions and international organizations to ensure that their interests and special requirements are taken into consideration.
ECTAA was founded in 1961 at Bad Kreuznach (Federal Republic of Germany) by the national associations of travel agents and tour operators of the 6 founding Member States of the Common Market. Other national associations joined ECTAA with the successive enlargements of the European Union.
