Lithuanian tourism companies are worried on possible withdrawal of Greece from the eurozone, The Lithuania Tribune reports referring to an article published by Lietuvos Rytas.

Particular travelling operators make attempts to amend the contracts with their Greek partners, writes LETA.

Greece is one of the most popular destinations for Lithuanian travelers for the summer season. Lithuanian tourism companies are aware of the risks connected with the agreements signed with Greek partners for the next year; however, many of enterprises are reluctant to reveal the details of deals.

"’All the risks are taken into account, while making agreements for the upcoming year. However, these risks are a part of the contracts and thus we cannot disclose the details,"’ said Sigita Dabule, the head of Novaturas marketing department.

In 2011, almost a quarter of Novaturas clients have chosen tours to Greece. Lithuanians favor Crete most of all. The popularity of Rhodes has increased significantly this year.

"The Greeks say that summer season of 2011 was very successful (..) 2012 summer season is forecasted to be good as well. We have reliable partners, hence even if the worst economic scenario is taken into account, we are sure that it will not have any effect on holidays of Lithuanians in Greece," said Dabule.

In 2012 summer season, Novaturas plans to expand their supply for holiday trips to Greece.

After the end of this summer season, the journeys to Greece exceeded the expectations of this company. Therefore, in spring they are planning to offer more flights to Greece as well as Rhodes island, which also belongs to Greece.

On the other hand, international tourism company TUI got worried.

As the probability that Greece is going to leave the Eurozone increases, TUI Scandinavia has demanded from the hotels of Greece to change the contracts.
