A special exhibition composed of archival images is opened in the hotel; besides, canteens of the hotel offer a "retro" menu.
The opening of the Hotel "Olümpia" took place 30 years ago to honour the 17th Summer Olympics Yachting Regatta, which was a top event for the Soviet Union. At opening the hotel was provided with 405 rooms, a restaurant Olümpia.
During its three decades of activity, the hotel has undergone large-scale renovation and the number of rooms was reduced from 405 to 390 rooms.
When the hotel was opened in 1980, there was no need for any conference rooms, because all party meetings had to be held outside the hotel. Today, the hotel has a modern conference and a banquet centre.
Until 1991, the hotel was under state ownership. In 1991, it was privatised, and Estonian Ministry of Finance, Inn Grupp, Mercury Asset Management and the Baltic Republic Fund shared the ownership of the hotel. In 1997, the hotel was purchased by the Reval Hotel Group, and since 2002 the hotel has belonged to Linstow.
