Finnish travel agency Matka-Vekka adds flights to Saaremaa

Print versionTravel agency Matka-Vekka, which in 2009 made six charter flights to Saaremaa with Finnish spa tourists, intends to double the number of flights in 2010, Äripäev.ee/LETA reports.

The interest towards Saaremaa continues to be big, the first flights are already sold out, said Matka-Vekka OY Saaremaa product manager Tiina Stenius. She said that both in spring and autumn six flights would be made from different cities of Finland.
Matka-Vekka, which launched direct flights to Kuressaare in 2007, brought in 2008 nearly 3,000 spa tourists to Saaremaa on 41 charter flights; last year it brought 400 tourists with six flights.
The partner of the travel agency is Finncomm Airlines, which uses a 68-seat plane ATR 72-500.
