Zolitude experiment has revealed new flaws in construction supervision process

Print versionThe experiment performed in the collapsed supermarket in Zolitude has revealed new, previously unnoticed flaws in the supervision of the construction business, Prosecutor General Eriks Kalnmeiers said on the Latvian Television show "Rita Panorama" this morning, informs LETA.

"The experiment has revealed new flaws, which we probably had not even imagined. They deal with supervision of the construction process and other matters," Kalnmeiers said, however, he did not go into detail about these newly discovered systematic flaws.
Kalnmeiers admitted that in the criminal process on Zolitude tragedy, charges could be brought against legal entities, similarly as with the case of the Riga Castle fire incident.
As reported, experiment in the collapsed Maxima supermarket concluded on April 17, caused the roof construction to break. The roof gave way just as experts had expected.
At the moment experts are processing the data, which they later will analyze and come to a conclusion.
