The spa complex will operate under the British brand name ESPA. It will be the fist five-star ESPA spa complex of such volume in the Baltic States and in Scandinavia, as LETA learned from the ESPA Riga spokeswoman Evija Segleniece.

Director of the ESPA Riga Johan Hellstrom underlines that the planned spa complex is a unique project, which will be located in a historic six-floor building. He explains that Riga has been chosen as the location for the new spa because the company sees a large growth potential in the Baltic States market.

Reval Hotel Latvia is the Latvian company, which has signed the franchising agreement with the ESPA International on rights to use the ESPA brand name in Riga, as Kari Hiltunen, the Country Manager of Reval Hotels in Latvia informed.

Thus, the new ESPA facilities will be located in the recently-renovated Art Nouveau building on Baznicas Street, which has been made part of the Reval Hotel Latvia complex of buildings. The interior design was entrusted to the Irish company Douglas Wallace, the construction works were carried out by the RRB cenltnieciba.

ESPA Riga will have 3,500 square meters floor space. The complex will include three swimming pools, a gym, several saunas, a spa-cafe, a bar, manicure, pedicure and make-up studios, as well as premises for various spa treatments.

ESPA is a U.K. brand, established by Susan Harmsworth 15 years ago. ESPA cooperates with such well-known hotel chains as "Ritz Carlton", "Bulgari", "Four Seasons", "Peninsula" and others. Currently there are 33 spa complexes worldwide, operating under the ESPA brand name.
