People are allowed to go on foot on the Estonian side of the state border to the ice of Lakes Peipsi, Lämnmijärv and Pskov in the Jõgeva, Tartu and Põlva county limits. ATVs and motorised sledges can be used on ice of Lake Pskov and Lämmijärv on the same territory.
On Thursday, the restrictions on going in ice will be eased further and then people will be allowed on Lake Peipsi too with ATVs.
Going on ice with any cars or tractors is strictly forbidden for now.
The border guard officials warn that going on ice either on foot or with vehicles is forbidden between Uhtinina and Piirissaar, closer than 100 metres of Salusaar and closer than 150 metres to river mouths.
The thickness of ice of Lake Pskov and Lämmijärv is an average of 15-20 cm, on Lake Peipsi 15-18 cm.
Going on the lakes with motorised vehicles has to be registered in the nearest border guard cordon.
