BC, Tallinn, 20.09.2013.Print version
The homeware, office and handicraft supplies store Tiimari's Baltic states regional manager Terje Pajusalu said that the announcement this week of the bankruptcy of the Finnish parent company was an unpleasant surprise since this year has been successful for the company in this region, Äripäev.ee/LETA reports.

"Tiimari Baltic AS ended the previous business year in profit and this year, we are moving quite a lot ahead of the previous year," said Pajusalu. She said that the Baltic states unit of the company has taken many steps improving efficiency which last year was reflected in Tiimari Baltic AS economic results.

"We are on wait-and-see position regarding the bankruptcy process of the parent company since the outlook of the Baltic States' store chain is not decided yet," said Pajusalu.

"Since the bankruptcy process has just started and we are waiting for the court decision, we don’t have any other information than that all activities in Finland and the Baltic states continue as usual," said Tiimari Oy CEO Niila Rajala.

Tiimari announced on Wednesday that it will go bankrupt.

Tiimari had 194 stores at the end of last year, of which 11 in Estonia.
