Lido king comments on Subway pending entry in Latvia and Lithuania

Print versionGunars Kirsons, the founding owner of the popular Lido restaurant chain, commented on the fact that the U.S. Subway chain plans to launch business in Latvia and Lithuania by noting that this confirms that Latvia indeed is an appealing and safe place for investment, informs LETA/Nozare.lv.

Kirsons pointed out that in opening new eateries, new job slots will be created, and the entry of such companies as Subway will help snuff out the "gray" economy. With the arrival of "new colleagues", the real winner stands to be the customer, he underlined.
As for competition for the Lido restaurants, Kirsons said that he "feels secure" because he knows the "Latvian customer" – what he/she wants and demands. Besides, the customer will always make his own choice anyway, he added.
