As reported, today, Berzins met with the business delegation that accompanied him during the visits, assessing potential steps for turning new ties into successful cooperation.

Berzins promised support for business community members in need of assistance in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan and invited all businessmen to be objective when assessing their situation.

Considerable changes are expected in Europe in the nearest future and Latvia must make use of its opportunity to be present in those countries that will display a noticeable growth potential during the next ten years, explained the president.

According to Berzins, he will invite the delegation to accompany him during his next visits. High-ranking Azerbaijani officials are also scheduled to visit Latvia in the nearest future, added the president.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Latvia Elman Zeynalov, Turkmen Ambassador to Latvia Halnazar Agahanov and an adviser from the Kazakh Embassy, who also participated in the meeting, lauded the results of Berzins' visits.

Nearly all sectors of Latvia's economy, the backbone of the country's economy, were represented in the visits, pointed out Investment and Development Agency of Latvia Director Andris Ozols. Some businessmen wanted to become familiar with the market, others, who had stable partners in these countries, used the visits to strengthen their positions, added Ozols.

Berzins went on official visits to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan this spring.
