"Fair and honest distribution of direct payments within the European Union is valid and understandable desire of farmers in the Baltic region. Currently [farmers] receive the lowest direct payments but they incur similar agricultural production costs like in other countries. Farmers of the Baltic countries find themselves in unequal competitive conditions. Due to small market, fertilizers and machinery are perhaps even more expensive in Lithuania, "said Udrenas in an interview to the radio Ziniu Radijas on Tuesday.
