The Russian "Argumenti i fakti" periodical features a story on the budgets of all of the KHL clubs, and, according to its unofficial estimates, Riga "Dinamo" has the second smallest, reports LETA.

The only club with less money than Riga is Chelyabinsk "Traktor", but this has not hampered results – currently third place in the Eastern Conference. Riga in contrast is in 13th place in the Western Conference, but ever hopeful of a turnaround and playoff contention.

The "Dinamo" 2012/2013 budget is estimated at LVL 7.5-9.1 million (USD 14-17 million); "Traktor" – USD 12-14 million (LVL 6.4-7.5 million).

Two KHL powerhouses have the heftiest budgets – Moscow CSKA and St. Petersburg SKA. The numbers are almost the same: USD 65-70 million (LVL 34.9-37.5 million) for Moscow, USD 60-70 million (LVL 32.2-37.5 million) for St. Petersburg.
