Russian-language newspapers "Vesti Segodna" and "Chas" in Latvia to merge in 2013

Print versionTwo Russian-language newspapers – "Vesti Segodna" and "Chas" – will merge in 2013, according to "Chas" homepage.
"Chas" website informs that the new newspaper will be called "Vesti Segodna", reports LETA/Nozare.lv.
The newspaper also points out that "Vesti Segodna" and "Chas" have become nearly identical in their competition for readers, advertisers and journalists, and their merger is a perfectly natural process and matches the latest public developments in Latvia.
After the merger, the new newspaper will publish the best articles of "Vesti Segodna" and "Chas" journalists, develop mobile and Internet versions and contain more pages.
