Sakret started actively pursuing sales to the Scandinavian market at the end of the year 2007. In the beginning of 2008, the Estonian company’s Nordic representation to Finland was opened.
According to Andris Vanags, the director general of Sakret OÜ, the plant that was opened in Estonia in summer 2007 was the precondition and the first step for expanding to the Scandinavian market.
“Exports is currently one of Sakret’s priorities. The objective is to export up to 60 per cent of the plant’s output. Estonia’s favourable location will certainly be beneficial in it and it is one of the principal premises for co-operation with the Scandinavian countries,” he explained.
Christian Simelius, representative of Sakret OÜ in the Scandinavian region, stated that in May this year already Sakret’s sales to the Nordic countries exceeded the planned volumes. He added that most of Sakret’s sales involve Finland, Sweden and Norway and currently the enterprise is also looking for co-operation partners in Denmark.
