In Q1, Lithuanian public procurement grow due to Klaipedos Nafta purchase

According to the data from the Public Procurement Office of Lithuania, value of public procurement in Q1, 2012 made LTL 3.6 billion (EUR 1.04 billion) and grew twice compared to a same period in 2012.

Such growth resulted from a purchase of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal made by Klaipedos Nafta, which is worth LTL 1.8 billion (EUR 0.52 billion). As this public procurement was based on environmental protection criteria, the value of green procurement increased almost three times or by 40.3%, writes LETA/ELTA.

 

Total number of public procurement remained almost unchanged: in Q1, 2012 – 2261 public procurement was done, while, there were 2330 in a same period in 2012.
