The majority of Lithuanian buyers believe they pay money for Lithuanian vegetables; however, local farmers point on invasion of Polish vegetables on the market, Radio Vilnius informed.

According to the preliminary data submitted by vegetable growers, this year's harvest is not bad, though vegetables are expected to be sold at higher price due to increased costs of fertilizers and fuel.

The Agriculture Information and Business Centre of Lithuania stated that at the end of August vegetable-growing farms were able to supply vegetables, that were grown in Lithuania; but the demand was low at that time.

The head of the Lithuanian association Fruits and Vegetables, Laimutë Grybauskaitë, said that the biggest amount of foreign vegetables come to the market when the season of growing vegetables comes to an end in Lithuania.
