Czech company Slevomat buys a part of Cherry Media

Print versionIn the framework of an agreement that came in force this week, Czech company Slevomat Group will buy a stake in Estonian daily discount offers web sites' operator Cherry Media OÜ, LETA/Äripäev.ee reports.

Cherry Media is the Baltic States market leader among internet environments that mediate daily discount offers and it owns social sopping environments Cherry.ee in Estonia, Cherry.lv in Latvia and Beta.lt and Grupinis.lt in Lithuania. Slevomat Group has a similar market position in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
"Founders of both companies share a similar background and passion towards that sphere of business," said Cherry Estonian branch office CEO Priit Tomp.
"Slevomat and Cherry were looking for possibilities to expand in Central and Eastern Europe and joining forces was a logical step," said Slevomat's CEO.
