Extending her congratulations for the long-standing initiative of the Swedish Trade Council and Lithuania the president underlined that innovative and socially responsible business was a guarantee of the successful development of Lithuania and the Baltic Sea region as well as of the wellbeing of their people.

"The Swedish Business Awards encourage not only profit-seeking but also innovations and responsibility in business. This is a serious promotion for Lithuanian business people to improve their business and also to contribute to the solution of social concerns. I therefore appreciate the novelty introduced this year – the Sustainable Growth Award," the president said.

Grybauskaite stressed that Lithuania's priority had always been and would be close cooperation with the Nordic countries, in particular with Sweden as one of the major investors in Lithuania.

The strength of the Baltic Sea region, the president said, lies in unique cooperation between our countries. According to Grybauskaite, this allows turning ambitious business plans into reality and earning the name of a smoothly developing business region.
