Beer sales in the summer months from May to August 2011 can be evaluated as successful, compared to summer of 2010, because the total increased by 11%, Aldaris CEO Thomas Panteli informed portal Nozare.lv.

Aldaris' "Zelta" beer had very good results – its sales increased by 38%, compared to the respective period last year. Already good seller "Apinitis", performed even better with sales increasing by 50%. But the total sales of alcoholic cider have tripled, compared to last summer," said Panteli.

He added that sales of beverages in aluminum cans have increased by 114%.

Panteli said that in other beverage categories the results "could be better, therefore the development of soft drink and, particularly, drinking water segments is one of next year's priorities because we want to become a more serious player in this market."

He also added that beer is more often bought in stores now, and data of seven% increase in store sales prove this, writes LETA.

Aldaris was established in 1865; it is the largest brewery in Latvia and among the major ones in the Baltic countries. Aldaris is a Carlsberg Group company.

Aldaris produces around 50 types of beverages in five categories – beer, drinking water, alcoholic cocktails, soft drinks and energy drinks.
