Lithuania corporate profits at nearly 2 bln litas in Q1

Companies in Lithuania operated at profit in the first quarter of 2011 with total profits of nearly 2 billion litas (0.579 billion euros). Corporate profits grew by 2.8 times year-on-year and by 39.8% compared with the previous quarter.

Over January-March 2011, revenues of companies from sales totalled 42.8 billion litas (12.39 billion euros), a survey on financial indicators of non-financial companies by Statistics Lithuania shows. It made an increase of 25.9% compared to the Q1 of 2010 and a decrease of 7.6% compared to the Q4 of 2010, writes LETA/ELTA.
Largest profits were generated by wholesalers, electricity, gas and steam supply companies.
