Telegraf points out that "Maxima's" story is similar to the one of Cinderella. An unknown company in 20 years has become the largest retail company in the Baltic States with a turnover of EUR 2.1 billion (LVL 1.47 billion) in 2010. At the moment the company has 217 stores in Lithuania, 131 in Latvia, 54 in Estonia and 35 in Bulgaria, writes LETA.
Now "Maxima's" owners are considering selling the company, and Baturina, Russia's richest woman, has been mentioned as a possible buyer. According to Forbes Magazine, her property's net worth was USD 4.2 billion (LVL 2.17 billion) in 2008.
"Maxima" representatives deny rumors about selling "Maxima".
