The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Estonia requested and was granted by court the authority to detain businessman Andrus Sukles who allegedly hired another man to kill his former business partner Tullio Liblik, writes LETA/EPL Online.

Andrus Sukles.

Press spokesperson of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Kadri Tammai stated that according to the initial ruling, Sukles will be detained for up to six months.

According to the information available to the Prosecutor’s Office, by the moment he was arrested, Sukles had paid the agreed amount of money to the person who had been commissioned to kill Liblik and had provided all of the necessary information on the target. The hired killer was not arrested as he is co-operating with the police authorities and is participating in the proceedings as a witness.

Sukles and Liblik, former business partners, had had a conflict since last autumn over a joint business venture in real estate business.

Tullio Liblik held a press conference on Monday afternoon, stating that the commissioning of the alleged murder against him might be motivated by a compensation claim that he could demand from Sukles for damaging their joint business venture. He asserted that the amounts involved in the damages caused may reach millions of kroons.
