Estonia fared well in Eastern European Doing Business list, Lithuania and Latvia follow next

Print versionAccording to the Doing Business 2010 index, Estonia ranks second closely behind Georgia among Eastern European countries in the list that measures how easy is doing business in different states, writes LETA/Postimees Online. Ranking third in the index on Eastern Europe is Lithuania which is followed by Latvia.

The global Doing Business 2010 index, however, has the following Top 5: Singapore, New Zealand, Hong Kong, United States and United Kingdom.
The Doing Business top list is compiled on the basis of the following aspects: establishment of companies, protection of investors, simplicity of terms for getting construction permits, paying taxes, hiring employees, trade exchange, receiving loans and closing down businesses.
