“The production operations in Tallinn were terminated at the end of April and more than 60 jobs were made redundant,” stated the public relations director of Coca-Cola HBC Estonia Piret Jaaks.
She stated that the enterprise worked closely in co-operation with the working environment council and attempted to find new positions for its employees in other local enterprises. “We have helped more than 20 per cent of those who were made redundant to find new jobs,” added Jaaks.
Initially, Coca-Cola planned to move the plant from Tallinn to Latvia and bought land property in Ropazhi near Riga in December, but the Baltic management reached a conclusion that the construction of the new plant will not be launched as yet. “The building of a new plant in Latvia will be a part of the company’s long-term strategy,” said Jaaks.
