The Latvian company DC Holding, the owner of the "Double Coffee" chain of cafe restaurants, has concluded a long-term agreement on opening a "Double Coffee" restaurant in the Russian city of Sochi, the chain's first restaurant in Russia, the business portal Nozare.lv was informed by DC Holding Franchising Department Director Juris Roganovs.

"Sochi is developing rapidly in connection with the forthcoming [Winter] Olympics. And although there are many places in the city with fairly good national cuisine, there is a lack of restaurants with good quality European cuisine and style. Of course we are pleased that our partners in Sochi decided they best liked the 'Double Coffee' concept, and made this their choice. The advantage for us was made up of four parts – a European style, wide selection of food and drinks, quality service, and the high level of support and training we provide for our franchise partners. Thanks to these advantages, we succeed in competing in the restaurant business franchise market and are involving ever more new partners," said Roganovs.

The "Double Coffee" restaurant in Sochi will be located in the city center opposite the building of the Olympic press center. In terms of size, the new restaurant will be comparable to the "Double Coffee" at the intersection of Strelnieku, Pulkveza Brieza and Elizabetes Streets in Riga.

There are currently nine franchise "Double Coffee" restaurants in existence – in Riga, Kiev, Lvov, and Minsk.

"We are continuing to develop our network in the capital cities and elsewhere in Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania. Our immediate plans are for the opening of 'Double Coffee' restaurants in several Eastern European countries, Central Asia, and in the Far East. We will give more detailed information when negotiations have been completed with franchise partners," said Roganovs.
